BSides Perth 2026

Conference Policies

Our Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy — how we keep BSides Perth a safe, inclusive, and trustworthy event for everyone.

Code of Conduct

Be Excellent to Each Other

We have ZERO TOLERANCE for physical, verbal, or sexual harassment of any participant — human, humanoid, or AI.

Our Code of Conduct is simply this: "Be Excellent to Each Other" — the Golden Rule. If that needs a clearer line: "Do not be a dick, or we will throw you out."

Asking questions of a speaker during their talk — to get clarity or debate a point — is not being a dick. Heckling or haranguing a speaker is. If you are not sure, ask yourself: would this be acceptable if it were done to you, your best friend, your colleague, or any other person? If the answer is no, don't do it. If someone asks you to stop, stop.

Reporting an Issue

If you are having an issue with any BSides Perth participant — of any badge type — find a member of our team in the red BSides Perth t-shirts. They will help you determine the next steps and ensure you feel safe and heard.

Staff reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation. Breaches of this Code of Conduct will likely result in removal from the current event and potentially a ban from future BSides events.
